An Introduction to My Blog

Today marks the first day of many to come. It's Monday night, and I'm ready to start blogging again after many years. Although, most of my entries that I've posted in the past reflected my personal life, I've come to a conclusion that somehow this time it has to be about business. There's so much to talk about that really interests me that I'd like to share, including topics and issues that many people should be aware of.

Every day for the past several years I've been keeping up on news and events related to technology and health. Some of my favorite sites include Paul Thurrott's Supersite for Windows whenever I want to keep up with the scoop on Microsoft and their competitors, Kevin Rose's Digg.com for whatever geeky humor and up-to-date news articles, and several articles a week from Men's Health Online Magazine. From time to time I've visited other blogs, and continue to contribute comments. I'm also a subscriber to Business Week Magazine.

Because my field of interest involves web development and design, I've been getting myself familiar with the articles on Smashing Magazine (http://www.smashingmagazine.com). Their resources are excellent for those who are just starting up in the world of web design, along with tips and techniques to consider for programmers like me who are keeping up with the continually-changing web technology today.

Besides actively researching business, technology, and health, I do spend a lot of social time with friends, taking trips, staying active and in shape, and surround myself with co-workers whom have the same interests. Writing has been a recent hobby of mine (though, I have performed poorly in English classes in the past), I feel the need to continue to write and share ideas should improve my skills overtime and keep me motivated and up-to-date with the latest news.

But the purpose of starting this blog isn't just to share ideas; the purpose is to explore and apply information to the real world. I've been writing articles from time to time, providing simple and logical information to the average reader. Implementing solutions is another thought I would have to keep in mind when writing, since most of the articles include topics that deal with problems, issues, and awareness. Be sure to look out for my first article to be published sometime next week.
